FLOAT POOL RN – MULTIPLE UNITS

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Float Pool RN to provide direct nursing care across multiple patient care units, including ICU, Telemetry, Medical/Surgical, and Progressive Care. You'll deliver evidence-based, patient-centered care in a fast-paced environment, managing patients across varying acuity levels with clinical autonomy and compassion.

Shift & Schedule

• Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 30, 2026

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted RN license in Kentucky
• Minimum 1 year of RN experience with Telemetry experience required
• ICU or critical care experience strongly preferred
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• BLS (AHA) – required within 90 days of hire
• ACLS (AHA), PALS, and NIHSS – all required within 6 months of hire
• Nonviolent crisis prevention training – required before end of orientation

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition across multiple units
• Manage critical care equipment, including ventilators, hemodynamic monitors, arterial/central lines
• Administer medications, including titratable vasoactive and sedation drips
• Perform hourly patient rounding and bedside shift reports
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on care planning
• Respond to rapid response and code situations as needed
• Educate patients and families on condition and treatment
• Maintain infection control and patient privacy standards
• Prioritize care as patient needs and acuity change

Physical Requirements

Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling (over 35 lbs), walking, repetitive motion, and bending. Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and airborne infectious diseases.
