RN – Float Pool

Position Overview

The facility seeks a Registered Nurse for a Float Pool role with flexibility across multiple units, including ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and Progressive Care Unit. You'll care for patients of varying acuity levels and must be comfortable transitioning between different clinical environments.

Schedule & Contract

• 12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• 3 days per week with weekend and holiday rotation
• 12-week contract

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Kentucky RN license
• ADN or ASN (BSN preferred)
• Minimum 1 year RN experience required
• Telemetry experience required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ACLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications required within 6 months of hire (strongly preferred if already held)
• ICU or critical care experience is a plus
• Recent specialty experience preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across ICU, Telemetry, Med/Surg, and Progressive Care units
• Perform hourly patient rounding and bedside shift reports
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage advanced life support equipment
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Manage multiple patients with varying acuity levels
• Educate patients and families on treatment plans
• Maintain infection control and patient privacy protocols

Additional Requirements

• Nonviolent crisis prevention training (completed during orientation; maintained annually)
• Annual influenza vaccination
• Physical demands: frequent lifting/pushing/pulling over 35 lbs, walking, bending, color discrimination
• Regular exposure to blood, body fluids, sharps, and infectious diseases
