Physical Therapist Assistant – Inpatient Rehab
Location: Richmond, VA
Shift: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–5:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
Contract: 13 weeks | 36 guaranteed hours/week
Start Date: June 29, 2026
About the Role
The facility's inpatient rehab unit specializes in stroke recovery and neurological rehabilitation. You'll work alongside a collaborative team of occupational and physical therapists, speech therapists, and support staff to deliver hands-on therapy to patients regaining function and independence.
Clinical Scope
Your day-to-day work includes:
- Manual therapy and neuromuscular re-education
- Therapeutic exercise and functional activity training
- Functional electrical stimulation
- Self-care and mobility training
- Patient education and progress monitoring
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in a hospital or inpatient rehab setting
- Strong background in stroke evaluation and treatment preferred
- Current PTA license/certification
- Comfort with AIDET communication principles and service recovery
Schedule & Floating
- Monday–Friday, 8-hour day shifts (7 AM–5 PM)
- Weekend rotations as needed
- May float to the acute hospital setting if rehab census is low
Dress Code
Black scrub bottoms and royal blue top (preferred)
