Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract | Des Moines, IA

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours/week
• 6-week contract
• Every 4th weekend required
• Holiday rotation: must work 1–2 winter holidays unless the unit is closed

Unit Overview

This busy Emergency Department cares for a mixed population of adult, pediatric, and behavioral health patients. Nurses manage high-acuity cases requiring sedation and vasoactive drip management, telemetry interpretation, and trauma response. Float coverage across multiple campuses is expected.

Scrubs: Navy blue, solid

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 36 months of current ED/ER experience
• Experience with pediatric and adult patient populations
• Drip management: sedation and vasoactive medications
• Telemetry strip reading, measuring, and interpretation
• Level II trauma experience

Preferred

• Behavioral health patient experience
• Level I trauma experience

Required Certifications (AHA or ARC)

• BLS
• ACLS
• PALS
• TNCC (documentation required)

Licensure

• Active Iowa RN license or compact/multistate license required at time of submission

First-time travelers are welcome provided the 36-month ED experience requirement is met.
