Oncology Nurse – Medical/Oncology/Palliative Care Unit
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Oncology Nurse to join a medical unit caring for oncology, medical, and end-of-life patients. This is a 13-week contract position based in Tulsa, OK.
Schedule
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Up to 6 weekend shifts within each 6-week schedule period
- Holiday availability required as needed by the department
Clinical Scope
You will provide direct patient care in a specialized unit managing oncology patients, medical patients, and those receiving palliative care. Chemotherapy administration is expected only of those with prior experience; chemotherapy certification and Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) education are preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Current RN license (verification via Nursys required)
- Chemotherapy certification or oncology experience preferred
- Ability to pass required onboarding assessments: Pharmacology Exam, Specialty Exam, and Core Competencies
- Standard healthcare clearances: drug screen, immunizations (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, Influenza), TB screening, and fit test
- Current CPR/ACLS certification
- Professional references and employment verification
