Ortho/Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry RN — Long Beach, CA

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: Nights, 3×12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Start: November 2026

This Ortho/Neuro Med-Surg/Telemetry unit manages an adult and geriatric population with complex, high-acuity diagnoses including stroke, TBI, seizures, orthopedic conditions, traumatic injuries, wounds, diabetes, and psychiatric comorbidities. The unit operates with strong interdisciplinary support, including respiratory services, social services, and lift teams.

Schedule & Expectations

• Every other weekend required
• No on-call required
• Floating within the hospital based on census required
• First-time travelers not accepted

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience in Med-Surg/Telemetry
• Active California RN license in hand at time of submission
• Certifications: BLS, NIHSS
• Previous charge experience preferred

Clinical Skills Required

• Telemetry interpretation and dysrhythmia management
• Peripheral line care and management
• Non-invasive airway management; oxygen administration (nasal cannula, face mask, portable tanks)
• Use of Rapid Response Teams
• Isolation precautions/PPE

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Navy
• Orientation: 12 hours; includes non-billable training modules completed during orientation
• All requested time off must be submitted at time of application — no additions after submission
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• One professional reference required (within the last 2 years)
