Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its medical-surgical telemetry unit. You'll provide direct care to acutely ill medical-surgical and orthopedic patients on the night shift.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Every-other-weekend rotation
• Holidays as needed
• 13-week contract
• Float required between all facility campuses

Patient Population & Clinical Scope

You'll care for adults and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses, including:

• Acute and chronic respiratory illness
• Post-operative general surgery, GYN, orthopedic (total knee/hip replacements)
• Active GI bleeding
• CHF and pulmonary edema
• Diabetes management (hyper- and hypoglycemic episodes)
• Renal failure
• Drug overdose
• Arrhythmia management
• New-onset seizures
• Patients requiring withdrawal management and behavioral health support
• Stable COVID patients

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 2 years medical-surgical or telemetry experience
• BLS required
• ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• Active RN license
• Proficiency with MS Tele and telemetry monitoring
• Dysrhythmia interpretation and EKG knowledge
• Experience with ports, IV therapy, blood products, and chest tube management
• Comfortable with Rapid Response and Code team protocols

Unit Details

• 36-hour orientation
• Interdisciplinary support: respiratory therapy, physical therapy, social services, pharmacy, and more

Requirements

• Active state RN license at time of submission
• Clean background check (no open cases)
• Current driver's license
• Third-party education verification required
