NeuroICU | Nights | Kansas City, MO | 13-Week Contract

This high-acuity Neuro ICU opportunity is ideal for experienced critical care nurses comfortable managing complex neurological and surgical patients. The unit cares for stroke patients, post-operative surgical cases, and critically ill patients requiring advanced hemodynamic and ventilator support.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Three 12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required (or 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period)
• 36 hours guaranteed per week
• Start date: November 2, 2026

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• Ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
• IV vasoactive medication administration
• Chest tube placement and management
• Ventriculostomy, arterial line, and central line placement
• CRRT, therapeutic hypothermia, and ECMO
• Moderate sedation
• Cardiac rhythm identification and stroke patient care

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• ACLS and BLS required
• NIHSS required; TNCC preferred but not required

Float Policy

Nurses may float to similar-acuity units including neuro/surgical ICU, cardiac telemetry, progressive care, burn unit, and ED inpatient overflow.

Dress Code

Navy scrub top (scrub top required, no t-shirts); navy or black scrub bottoms; solid navy, white, or black jackets and undershirts.
