Stroke Unit Nurse — 36-Hour Guaranteed Weekly
Shift & Schedule
- Nights: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
- 36 hours guaranteed per week
- 9-week contract
- On-call and weekend schedule to be determined by facility
- No scheduling restrictions; must be flexible with facility needs
The Role
You'll assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for stroke patients on a specialized stroke unit. This role requires strong clinical judgment, specialized stroke knowledge, and the ability to manage both acute and monitoring needs. You'll work with a dedicated team focused on stroke outcomes and quality patient care.
Required Experience & Certifications
- 2+ years recent Med/Surg or Telemetry experience
- 2+ years direct experience working with stroke patients (must be listed on resume)
- Active NIHSS Certification at time of submission
- Willing to obtain mRs/SIREN Certification within 48 hours if offered
- Willing to obtain Basic EKG Certification and score 85%+ within 48 hours if offered
- Active BLS (American Heart Association)
- Comfortable taking Telemetry patients as needed
- Previous travel nursing experience required
- Current flu and COVID vaccination records (declinations not accepted)
