Med/Surg Travel RN — Wheeling, WV

This acute care Med/Surg unit manages a diverse medical-surgical patient population with a rotating day/night schedule. Common diagnoses include CHF, COPD, ia, urosepsis, cellulitis, acute kidney injury, cholecystitis, and appendicitis.

Assignment Details

• Schedule: Three 12-hour rotating day/night shifts per week; weekends scheduled as needed (approximately half)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 30, 2026
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Cancellation Policy: Up to 2 shifts per contract

Unit Structure

• Charge RN on the floor with patient assignment
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) support the unit
• Remote telemetry monitoring by dedicated monitor technicians
• Intermittent BiPAP support; no ventilators
• RNs titrate heparin drips based on aPTT results
• No standby or call requirements

Float Policy

Floating to other units may be required based on census; external travelers float first.

Requirements

• Active RN license
• BLS (AHA)
• NIHSS certification
• BSN not required

• Scrub color: Navy Blue

Additional Note

Candidates must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility. A copy of a valid, unexpired driver's license is required at submission. Any licensing issues must be disclosed at time of submission.
