Transfer Center RN/LVN | Rancho Cordova, CA | 13-Week Contract

This Transfer Center role is a fully remote clinical coordination position — no hands-on patient care. You'll work as a clinical liaison facilitating patient transfers to and from hospitals across the region, managing cases from post-intake through placement.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour rotating shifts, start time 1445
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required as needed
• First-to-float designation

What You'll Do

• Manage 10–15 active transfer cases per shift, aiming to process approximately one new case per hour
• Perform patient assessments and compile clinical information (vitals, patient reports)
• Identify and secure accepting physicians and specialists for appropriate patient placement
• Coordinate bed requests with bed placement teams
• Communicate simultaneously across multiple platforms including clinical texting, chat applications, and tracking systems

Required Experience & Skills

• Minimum 2 years of ICU, Emergency Department, or Transfer Center experience
• Strong critical care assessment skills and clinical judgment
• Ability to multitask across multiple computer applications simultaneously
• Strong typing proficiency required (typing assessment score must be provided at submittal)
• Professional communication and customer service skills

Certifications & Licensure

• Active RN or LVN license
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS

Additional Details

• Guaranteed 36 hours per week
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Department orientation: 1 day general, 3–5 days unit-specific (training may occur on any shift)
• Dress code: Clean, professional scrubs or casual attire (clean jeans, hoodies without large graphics)
• Time-off requests are rarely accommodated — flexibility is essential
