Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) — Registered Nurse

Night Shift | Saint Helena, CA | 13-Week Contract

This CVICU position focuses on high-acuity cardiovascular patients, including post-open-heart surgery recovery. Candidates must bring strong cardiovascular critical care experience and comfort managing complex post-operative cases.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36–48 hours per week (36 hours guaranteed)
• Contract length: 13 weeks
• Anticipated start: December 7, 2026

Clinical Scope

• Manage post-cardiac surgery patients in the recovery phase, including open-heart cases
• Operate and monitor intra-aortic balloon pumps
• Deliver high-acuity critical care utilizing independent clinical judgment and coordinated interdisciplinary collaboration
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, evaluate outcomes, and participate in discharge planning
• Educate patients and families; supervise and delegate to supporting nursing staff

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure in California (or compact state eligibility)
• BLS (AHA) — required
• ACLS (AHA or ARC) — required
• Minimum 2 years of recent acute care nursing experience
• Cardiovascular ICU experience with open-heart recovery training — required
• Intra-aortic balloon pump experience — required
