Laboratory Technologist/Technician
Position Overview
The facility's laboratory seeks a skilled technologist or technician for overnight shift coverage. You'll work across multiple departments including chemistry, hematology, urinalysis, coagulation, and front-end microbiology (plating and rapid testing), as well as specimen receiving and processing.
Shift & Scheduling
- 4 ten-hour overnight shifts: 9 PM–7 AM
- Every other weekend coverage required
- Schedule flexibility available; many overnight staff work stretches to optimize days off
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- 13-week contract
Requirements
- Current certification from ASCP, AMT, or comparable accrediting body (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Scrubs required; closed-toe, closed-heel shoes (no Crocs or shoes with holes)
- Lab coats and PPE provided onsite
Clinical Scope
Depending on available staff skill sets, you'll typically train in either hematology/front-end microbiology or chemistry/front-end microbiology. The role includes specimen processing, testing, and documentation in the facility's laboratory system.
