Emergency Department RN — Travel Contract
Apple Valley, CA | Days | 13 Weeks
This acute care facility is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a 13-week day shift contract. The ED serves a broad patient population — neonates through geriatrics — managing all differential diagnoses with stroke and STEMI receiving capability.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- Weekend coverage: every other weekend; may increase to meet unit needs (6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule)
- Must be available to work 3 of 5 designated holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day
- No call required; no float within unit required
- Travelers may be expected to float to nearby sister facilities
Clinical Scope
The ED team manages high-acuity cases including CVA, TBI, STEMI, spinal cord injuries, neuro-trauma, and procedural sedation. Key skills utilized include blood product administration, management of dysrhythmias, care of ventilated patients, IV vasopressor management, , and central line care. Robust interdisciplinary support includes respiratory services, rapid response, pharmacy, radiology, and social services.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of ED experience required; first-time travelers considered
- Community hospital experience preferred
- Active certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, PALS
- Compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Pending licenses not accepted
