Radiation Therapy Technologist — Oncology | Rochester, NY
13-Week Contract | Days | Monday–Friday
A Radiation Oncology department in Rochester, NY is seeking an experienced Radiation Therapy Technologist for a 13-week travel assignment. This is a Monday–Friday day shift role (7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, 8-hour shifts), with 40 guaranteed hours per week. No Saturday coverage is required.
Clinical Scope
You will deliver radiation therapy treatments to adult oncology patients across the full acuity spectrum. Core responsibilities include:
- External beam therapy and IMRT delivery
- CBCT/kV/mV imaging and tumor localization
- Radiation dose calculation
- Custom mold and shield fabrication
- Block cutting, portal casting, wedges, and compensation filters
- B-mode acquisition targeting
- Adherence to radiation safety and isolation/PPE protocols
- Participation in Rapid Response/Code team procedures
Float Requirement: Candidates must be willing to float to other Radiation Oncology locations within the system.
Required Qualifications
- Valid New York State Radiologic Technologist – Therapy License (must be in hand at time of submission)
- ARRT (T) certification
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of Radiation Therapy experience
- Electronic health record proficiency is a hard requirement
- Candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are not eligible for this travel assignment
Preferred Experience
- Hands-on experience with linear accelerator–based treatment platforms (Ethos or Varian preferred)
- Familiarity with treatment planning systems (Eclipse or Pinnacle)
