Stepdown / Immediate Care Unit — Travel RN

Morgantown, WV | Days 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | 13-Week Contract

This Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit primarily serves adult and geriatric patients with cardiac diagnoses, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures. The unit also manages a general medical-surgical population, and acuity varies — some patients would be classified as Progressive Care or Telemetry level in other settings.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour days (07:00–19:00), weekdays with some weekend coverage
• Weekend block scheduling considered (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon)
• Holiday RTO limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks | Start: ASAP | Extension possible
• Orientation: 8 hours

Required Certifications

• BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
• WV or Compact RN license required

Experience Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience overall
• At least 1 year Med/Surg or Telemetry; 2 years Stepdown preferred
• Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips

Key Clinical Skills

• IV starts, telemetry monitoring (unit and remote), dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Central line and PICC line care, blood product administration
• BiPAP/CPAP management, non-invasive airway management
• Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Heparin protocols, IV insulin protocols

• Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white (not provided)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
