Neurology RN – 12-Hour Nights | Morgantown, WV

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights, including weekends and holidays) | Guaranteed Hours: 36/week

Unit Overview

This acute care neurology unit manages a diverse patient population including stroke, seizures, Deep Brain Stimulator (DBS) cases, surgical/post-op spines, and a broad range of neurological disorders. Strong neuro experience across these diagnoses is essential.

Certifications Required

• BLS (AHA) – required
• NIHSS – required; must be in hand at time of submission
• ACLS – preferred

Clinical Expectations

• Proficiency with G-tube management is required
• Floor vents may be present; RT manages ventilator settings — no vent experience required of RNs
• Telemetry is present on the unit; RNs verify but do not independently read strips
• Drip titration is physician-order driven; common drips include amiodarone, cardizem, nitroglycerin, dopamine, ketamine, and insulin, among others

Scheduling

• Night shift weekend positions: Friday/Saturday/Sunday or Saturday/Sunday/Monday
• Every other weekend or 3 weekend shifts per schedule cycle
• Holiday rotation participation expected
• Three consecutive shifts may be accommodated but are not guaranteed — flexibility is required

Floating

Float may be required to other medical-surgical units within the facility as needed.

Additional Details

• Charge nurse coverage 24/7
• Nurse aides available each shift
• Scrub color: any combination of white and royal blue
• Orientation: 1 shift on the unit
• Cancellation policy: up to 2 shifts per 13-week contract
• BSN not required; active RN license required prior to submission
