MedSurg Stepdown & Floor Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
Join the Medical-Surgical Stepdown and Floor unit as a staff nurse providing care to post-acute and recovering patients. This 12-hour day shift role offers the opportunity to work in a structured environment with defined patient ratios and strong clinical support.
Shift & Schedule
- Hours: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- Days: Rotating weekends and holidays as scheduled
- Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours per week
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Note: No time off approval permitted December 20 – January 2
Clinical Scope
- Care for stepdown and general medical-surgical patients
- Manage drip titration and medication administration
- Monitor and interpret telemetry; RNs must be proficient in strip reading
- Collaborate with in-house respiratory therapy (24/7 support available; ventilators present on unit)
- Work alongside tele technicians who post strips each shift
Patient Ratios & Staffing
- Charge Nurse and Transport RN on-site 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
- 2–5 Certified Aides typically assigned
Requirements & Details
- License: Current RN license required
- Certification: BLS required
- Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs
- Float Expectation: May be pulled to other units
- Cancellation Policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract permitted
