Labor & Delivery RN – Night Shift | Los Angeles, CA | 13-Week Contract

This night shift L&D opportunity is open to first-time travelers with a minimum of two years of experience. The unit manages both low- and high-risk obstetric patients across , LDR, OR, NICU, and post-partum settings, with 24-hour OB hospitalist and OB anesthesia coverage.

Shift & Schedule

• 4x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• 4 weekend shifts per month (Friday or Saturday)
• No on-call required when working 4 shifts/week; 1 on-call per 2 weeks when working 3 shifts

Required Skills & Clinical Competencies

• Sterile vaginal exams and high-risk patient management (hard requirement)
• Advanced fetal monitoring and CMQCC Category II algorithm application
• Recognition and treatment of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• External fetal monitoring
• Circulating for C-sections

Required Certifications

• AHA BLS, ACLS, NRP, AWHONN Advanced

Licensure

• Active California RN license required at time of submission

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience
• Pre-start advanced EKG exam required (80% passing score; two attempts allowed)
• Completion of required learning modules prior to start
• 36-hour orientation
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Smoke/nicotine-free facility; arrive free of tobacco odor
• Maximum 3 days RTO per contract; no RTO during first two weeks

Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, and adults. Interdisciplinary support includes pharmacy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams.
