Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) Travel Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a compassionate and experienced PICU nurse to join a high-acuity pediatric team. You will provide specialized care to patients from infancy through age 25, managing complex medical conditions in a dynamic critical care environment.

Shift & Schedule

• Rotating 3x12-hour shifts: 7:00 AM–7:30 PM and 7:00 PM–7:30 AM
• Shifts may vary to meet operational needs; the facility will make every effort to honor your preference
• Mandatory holiday coverage: minimum every other holiday
• 13-week contract

Required Qualifications & Certifications

• Minimum 12 months permanent PICU experience in your applying specialty
• Current RN license: permanent Ohio or compact state license (must be in hand at submission)
• Active BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Red Cross or equivalent)
• NIHSS preferred
• Proficiency with EKG interpretation and inotrope management
• Ability to pass ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation

Clinical Focus

Specialization in epilepsy monitoring and critical care management of pediatric patients across a range of diagnoses and acuity levels.

What to Expect

• Comprehensive orientation including competency modules
• ECG rhythm and medication safety testing (maximum 2 attempts to pass)
• Background clearance and drug screening required
• BCI/FBI prints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
