Cardiac ICU (CICU) — Travel RN | Asheville, NC

Nights | 13-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is in a cardiac intensive care unit managing high-acuity patients requiring advanced hemodynamic support and invasive monitoring. The unit operates with an RN-only staffing model (no HUC or PCT support), so candidates should be comfortable working independently in a fast-paced critical care environment.

Shift & Schedule

• 18:45–07:15 (12-hour nights)
• 36 hours/week, alternating weekends
• Travelers float to all areas of the facility

Clinical Scope

The CICU handles a broad range of complex cardiac and critical care cases. Bedside procedures include cardioversion, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, EGD, chest tube insertion, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis.

Required Skills

• Titration of vesicant medications and vasopressors
• Sedation and paralytic management
• Ventilator and tracheostomy care
• Telemetry interpretation
• Hemodynamic monitoring, PA catheter setup and interpretation

Preferred/Advanced Skills

• IABP, Impella, and CRRT experience
• Transvenous pacing, TEE

Certifications

• None required; CCRN strongly recommended

Dress Code

• All navy or navy and white scrubs
• No pullovers, hoodies, or green scrubs
