Cardiac ICU Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced ICU nurse for a 13-week assignment in its Cardiac ICU (CICU). This is a night shift role (18:45–07:15) providing direct patient care in a high-acuity critical care environment.

Unit Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Titrate vasopressors, sedation, and paralytic agents
• Interpret telemetry and manage hemodynamic monitoring, including PA catheter interpretation
• Manage mechanical ventilation, tracheostomies, and chest tubes
• Assist with or perform procedures including cardioversion, central line insertion, bronchoscopy, pericardiocentesis, and thoracentesis
• Provide transvenous pacing support and manage TEE monitoring
• Float to other ICU areas as needed

Requirements

• Current RN license (state specified)
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience required
• Strong knowledge of hemodynamics, pressors, sedation, and mechanical ventilation
• CCRN certification preferred; IABP, Impella, and CRRT certifications are a plus

Schedule & Logistics

• 36 hours/week, 12-hour night shifts
• Alternating weekends
• Navy scrubs required
• No pullovers or hoodies
