ICU Travel Nurse — Portsmouth, New Hampshire

Shift: Night shift, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

Start Date: November 2, 2026

This high-acuity ICU manages a diverse critical care population, including post-open-heart surgery, stroke, and trauma patients. The unit is supported around the clock by mid-level providers, trauma surgeons, and respiratory therapists, with PT/OT available during day shift. No CNAs or PCTs are on the unit, so strong independent nursing skills are essential.

Scheduling

• 12 shifts per month (3 per week)
• 4 weekend shifts per month
• Schedule built around approved time-off requests
• Travelers float on a rotation basis, with travelers floating first

Required Skills

• Strong telemetry skills
• Experience titrating vasoactive and inotrope medications
• Chest tube management
• Prior ICU experience

Preferred Skills

• Open heart recovery experience
• Temporary pacing
• Swan-Ganz catheter experience

Procedures Performed on Unit

• Intubation
• Central line and arterial line placement
• Chest tube placement
• Bedside shift report with patient-facing communication boards updated each shift

Required Certifications

• ACLS
• BLS
