LDRP Registered Nurse – Lexington, KY
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced LDRP (Labor/Delivery/Recovery/Postpartum) Registered Nurse to join the obstetric team on the night shift. You'll provide comprehensive, continuity-based nursing care to mothers and newborns across the full childbirth experience—labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum—all within a single room setting.
Shift & Contract
- 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
- 13-week contract
- Weekends and holidays as scheduled
Key Responsibilities
- Assess and monitor fetal heart rate patterns and uterine contractions, escalating concerns promptly
- Administer labor management medications (induction/augmentation agents) and support epidural placement per physician orders
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and manage immediate postpartum/post-cesarean recovery
- Perform maternal and newborn assessments as part of integrated couplet care
- Recognize and respond to high-risk obstetric and postpartum conditions
- Educate mothers on breastfeeding, newborn care, and bonding
- Collaborate with OB physicians, midwives, anesthesia, and pediatric teams
- Maintain accurate, timely documentation of labor, delivery, and postpartum care
- Provide continuity of care by staying with the same patient and family throughout their hospital stay
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Minimum 1+ years of L&D/LDRP experience
- Experience with fetal monitoring, deliveries, and couplet care
Preferred
- BSN degree
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification
