Emergency Department | Registered Nurse (RN)

Austin, TX | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This urban Emergency Department manages a diverse, high-acuity patient population with clinical specialization in advanced cardiac care, orthopedic/spine, oncology, and maternal-fetal medicine. The department runs 24/7, including a dedicated fast-track area, with and charge RN coverage around the clock.

Shift Details

• Night shift: 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• No floating outside the ED

Clinical Scope

• High-acuity adult emergency care across cardiac, stroke, trauma, and specialty populations
• Department supports STEMI and stroke response protocols
• ED PCTs trained in phlebotomy and splinting available 24/7 to support the nursing team

Requirements

• Active RN license (verified through Nursys)
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Department RN experience
• BLS required; additional certifications may be required upon onboarding
• Must complete specialty and EKG competency exams, core competencies, and color vision screening at onboarding

Additional Details

• Scrub color: Navy blue
• Standard immunization and health documentation required (MMR, Varicella, Tdap, Hepatitis B, TB screening, Influenza)
• Background check, drug screen, and employment/education verification required
• Two professional references required at time of submission
