Night Shift Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced night shift nurse for its medical-surgical telemetry unit. This is a 13-week contract position working three 12-hour nights per week (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM).

Requirements

• Current, active Ohio license (permanent or compact)
• Minimum 1 year combined permanent experience in medical-surgical or telemetry the facility
• ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications (active and in hand at submission)
• One professional reference from a manager, charge nurse, or director from an assignment within the past 12 months (no peer references)
• Willingness to complete facility-specific competency assessments during orientation, including ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety testing (maximum 2 attempts to pass)

Clinical Setting

You'll care for medical-surgical patients on telemetry monitoring, working alongside an interdisciplinary team. The unit provides structured support and orientation to ensure your success.

Compliance & Screening

• COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions available)
• Background check and drug screening (10-panel plus nicotine) required within 12 months of start
• No open cases or license hits accepted
• BCI/FBI prints must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing

Additional Notes

Extensions available up to 18 months, followed by a required 6-month break. Facility orientation modules required pre-start and annually for continued contracts. Please discuss return-to-office arrangements during the interview process.
