Progressive Care Unit (PCU) — Registered Nurse | Night Shift

Hays, KS | 13-Week Contract | 4x12 Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

This acute care facility is seeking an experienced PCU RN for night shift coverage. The unit manages intermediate-acuity patients requiring close cardiac monitoring, IV therapy, and prompt intervention for a range of medical and surgical diagnoses.

Shift & Scheduling

• 4x12-hour nights (19:00–07:00); 36 or 48 hours per week
• Weekend rotation required; expect to work some holidays
• No block scheduling beyond 3–4 consecutive shifts
• RTO must be approved and documented before the assignment begins; minimize requests, especially during the first two weeks

Clinical Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PCU or comparable experience required
• Competency in IV insertion, dysrhythmia interpretation, and dysrhythmia management
• ACLS and BLS certification required
• First-time travelers welcome

Float & Coverage

• All RNs are expected to float to other units when short-staffed
• No on-call requirement

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Any color
• Guaranteed hours: 40 hrs/week
• Drug screen: Negative 13-panel within 30 days required (Qgold only accepted)
• Candidates must complete lab screening within 24 hours of signing
• Local candidates within 45 miles are not eligible
• Pending licenses not accepted
