Orthopedic RN – Medical/Telemetry Unit | Livingston, TX

Contract: 13 weeks | Shift: 12-hour Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM | Guaranteed Hours: 36–48 hours rotating per two weeks

This orthopedic unit provides acute care for a primarily ortho patient population in a well-supported environment with charge nurses, house supervisors, and nurse educators readily available.

Clinical Details:

• Orthopaedic and acute care patient population
• RNs are not required to titrate drips
• Telemetry monitor techs are on the unit; RNs must be able to independently read strips
• Unit is equipped to manage patients on CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are present on the unit

Schedule & Requirements:

• 12-hour day shifts; scheduling managed by unit manager — block scheduling is not guaranteed
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday shifts required
• No on-call or standby required
• Must be willing and able to float to all med/tele units

Certifications Required:

• ACLS, BLS

Other Requirements:

• Active RN license required for submission
• BSN not required
• Strong communication and time management skills essential
• Dress code: Navy blue scrubs
• Orientation: 2 shadow/orientation shifts before independent practice

Cancellation Policy: Up to 4 shifts per 13-week assignment.
