Emergency Room Registered Nurse

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Emergency Room RN to join a fast-paced acute care setting. You will manage a diverse patient population across all age groups—from neonates to geriatrics—providing high-quality emergency care in a dynamic environment.

Schedule & Commitment

• 3x12-hour shifts per week (noon to midnight)
• 4 patients per shift ratio
• Weekend coverage required (6 weekend shifts per contract period)
• Must commit to working 3 of 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• 13-week contract

Qualifications

• RN license (Compact license required at submission)
• Minimum 2 years emergency nursing experience
• Charge nurse experience required
• Current ACLS, BLS, and TNCC certifications
• PALS and NIHSS preferred
• 2 professional references covering 1 year within the last 3 years

Clinical Scope

You'll manage trauma, acute medical emergencies, and critical presentations including:

• Airway management and intubation assistance
• Central and arterial line care
• Procedural sedation monitoring
• Chest tube and drain management
• Hemodynamic monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Behavioral health and psychiatric holds
• Pediatric and adult emergency care

Key Notes

• Orientation: 40 hours
• Free parking available
• May be required to float to nearby sister facilities if assigned
• Refusal to float may result in assignment termination
