Respiratory Therapist

Respiratory Therapist (RRT/CRT) — Travel Contract | Oak Hill, WV

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: Orientations held every other Monday

This position supports a unit where the primary patient population includes COPD and ia cases. All patient beds are located on a single floor, with a small ICU co-located on the same floor. The role also involves coverage in a busy outpatient surgery department and an active emergency department.

Schedule Details

• Three night shifts per week; every third weekend requires a day shift
• Night shift coverage may be required when a scheduled staff member requests time off
• Guaranteed 72–80 hours per pay period

Clinical Skills & Scope

• Mechanical ventilation management, weaning, and troubleshooting
• BiPAP/CPAP, intubation assist, extubation, tracheostomy care
• Arterial blood gas drawing and interpretation
• Aerosol therapy, pulmonary hygiene, patient transport (inter-departmental)
• Pediatric and adult patient populations

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active WV or Compact RT license (pending license accepted for submission)
• BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA-issued)
• RRT or CRT credential

Additional Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of experience (first-timers considered)
• Candidate permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility (75–100 miles reviewed case-by-case)
• Float within scope and to sister facilities as needed
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions with documented allergist/physician record only); flu season October 1–March 31
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Fit test required prior to start
• Scrub color: Navy blue
