This Emergency Department RN role is based in Knoxville, TN and focuses on ED boarding care — managing admitted patients who are awaiting inpatient bed placement, either in a designated holding area or the hallway.

Shift & Schedule

• Days | 3×12-hour shifts (07:00–19:00)
• Every other weekend and select holidays required
• Block scheduling considered

Clinical Scope

• Primary responsibility: caring for admitted patients boarding in the ED pending inpatient placement
• Acute Care and/or Med-Surg Telemetry experience strongly preferred
• May float to acute care areas when ED boarding census is low (rare)

Contract Details

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: November 16, 2026
• Float within scope to meet facility needs required

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of RN experience; first-time travelers considered based on background
• Active Tennessee RN license or multi-state compact license required at time of submission — pending licenses not accepted
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS required
• Prior charting experience required for RN positions
• 2 professional references required (may be pending at submission)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• COVID-19 vaccine not required
