Operating Room RN — Travel Contract | Arlington, VA
Join a busy surgical team in a fast-paced Operating Room environment. This 13-week day-shift contract offers exposure to a diverse, high-acuity surgical caseload including trauma, neurosurgery, orthopedic spine, general surgery, robotics, and eyes/ENT procedures.
Shift & Schedule
- 4x10-hour days | 11:00 AM – 9:30 PM
- On-call: 3–4 call shifts every 6 weeks (8 hours each); must be available within 30 miles/30 minutes of the facility
Clinical Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience
- Preferred experience in trauma, neuro, ortho spine, general surgery, robotics, and eyes/ENT
- Familiarity with OR scheduling and perioperative charting workflows
Certifications & Licensure
- Active Virginia (VA) or Compact RN license — must be active and in hand at time of submission; pending licenses will not be accepted
- BLS required
Vaccination Requirements
- COVID-19 vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
- Flu vaccine required October 1 – March 31 (medical exemptions only)
Additional Details
- Contract begins ASAP; exact start date determined by charting system training schedule
- All travelers must complete an orientation module series (up to 7 hours, non-billable) and attend a required charting class unless recently returning
- Time-off requests should be minimal and submitted upfront; holiday coverage expected
- This is a smoke/nicotine-free facility
