OR First Assist (RNFA) | Travel Contract | Rancho Mirage, CA

13-Week Contract | Day Shift

This active surgical program covers a broad range of specialties — including orthopedics, general surgery, gynecology, urology, neurosurgery/spine, bariatrics, colorectal, and robotic-assisted procedures — across inpatient OR, outpatient same-day surgery, outpatient orthopedics, GI procedure rooms, and pain management suites. Float coverage across all areas is expected.

Schedule

• Choice of 4x10s (06:30–17:00) or 3x12s (06:30–19:00)
• Call and float required
• Every other weekend required

Required Skills & Certifications

• CRNFA and BLS required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years of acute hospital OR experience
• Previous charge/lead experience required
• No first-time travelers
• Valid California RN license required at time of submission
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility

Clinical Scope

First assist duties span general, gynecologic, orthopedic, urologic, neurological/spine, and robotic cases including multiple Da Vinci platforms and orthopedic robotic systems. Procedures include total joint replacements, spinal fusions, bariatric surgery, Whipple, colorectal resections, C-sections, hysterectomies, and more. Patient population includes adolescents through geriatrics.

• On-call policy: may be called off or placed on call once per pay period; 60-minute callback required
• Scheduled time off requests must be submitted with your profile; no RTO in the first two weeks
• Flu vaccine required; COVID-19 vaccine not required
• One extension permitted
