PCU / Progressive Care Unit — Travel RN

Eureka, CA | Nights | 26-Week Contract

This Progressive Care Unit position focuses on adult and geriatric patients requiring close cardiac monitoring and step-down level care. The unit supports a wide range of clinical needs, from telemetry management to pre- and post-procedural cardiac care.

Shift & Schedule

• Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week
• 40-hour orientation
• Holiday commitment required: must be available for at least 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Float between nearby sister facilities may be required; refusal to float may result in assignment termination

Clinical Scope

• Cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation and management
• BiPAP/CPAP and non-invasive airway management
• Central line, PICC line, and feeding tube care
• Heparin protocols and cardiac drip management (no titration)
• Blood product administration
• Pre/post cardiac catheterization and angiogram care
• Procedural sedation administration and monitoring
• Isolation precautions and PPE

Required Certifications

• ACLS, BLS, NIHSS

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PCU, stepdown, or ICU experience; current clinical experience within the last 6 months is mandatory
• Valid compact RN license in hand at time of submission
• 2 professional references covering at least 1 year within the past 3 years
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• All requested time off must be submitted upfront; post-offer RTO requests may not be accommodated
