Medical-Surgical RN — Night Shift | Nashville, TN
This 13-week contract is a night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) position on a medical-surgical unit in Nashville, TN. The position offers 36 guaranteed hours per week.
Unit Overview
The unit is a general medical-surgical floor supporting a mixed adult patient population across varying acuity levels. Support staff on nights includes 2–3 patient care technicians. Nurses may be asked to float to other medical-surgical units on a PRN basis.
Schedule & Availability
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday)
- Weekday scheduling is flexible
Clinical Skills & Certifications
- BLS required
- NIH Stroke Scale certification required
- CPI preferred
- Strong assessment skills essential
- Proficiency with IV pumps required
- Procedures performed on unit: IV placement and foley catheter insertion
Dress Code
Black or royal blue scrubs
Patient Experience Standards
Candidates must be comfortable following structured patient experience protocols including hourly rounding practices.
Ideal Candidate
This role is well-suited for an organized, assessment-focused nurse with solid medical-surgical experience. Familiarity with wound care equipment, remote telemetry monitoring, and telehealth tools is a plus. The unit is supported by experienced staff and utilizes current clinical technology.
