Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) RN — Asheville, NC

Shift: Nights | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM

Contract Duration: 16 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week

About the Unit

This PICU manages critically ill pediatric patients with the flexibility to support a stepdown population as well. The unit is staffed with a Health Unit Coordinator available during day hours and shared tech support. Self-scheduling is available.

Clinical Scope

Nurses on this unit perform a wide range of high-acuity procedures, including:

• IV starts and catheterizations
• Central line dressing changes
• Hemodynamic monitoring and ICP monitoring
• Ventilator management
• Trach care and tracheostomy management
• Tube feeding and placement
• Assistance with lumbar punctures

Scheduling Expectations

• 3 weekends required per 6-week schedule
• Float capability to Pediatrics and NICU required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
• PALS certification (required)
• Active RN license

Dress Code

• All navy, all white, or navy pants with white tops
