Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) — Travel RN

Asheville, NC | Nights: 18:45–07:15 | 16-Week Contract

This travel RN opportunity is in a PICU serving a complex, high-acuity pediatric population. The unit manages patients requiring close monitoring and advanced interventions, with floating responsibilities to Pediatrics and NICU as needed.

Clinical Scope & Procedures

• IV starts, catheter management, and holding for lumbar punctures
• Central line dressing changes and hemodynamic monitoring
• Tracheostomy care, tube feeding and placement
• ICP monitoring and ventilator management

Unit Details

• Shift: 18:45–07:15 (nights), 36 guaranteed hours/week
• Contract: 16 weeks, starting October 8, 2026
• HUC available 9:00 AM–9:00 PM; tech shared with unit
• Float requirement: Pediatrics and NICU
• Scrub color: All navy, all white, or navy pants with white top

Scheduling

• Within each 6-week scheduling cycle, 3 weekends are required

Requirements

• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience
• PALS certification required
• Comfort with ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring strongly preferred
