Postpartum Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Details
- Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Schedule: Every other weekend; no call
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
- Location: Wichita, KS
About the Role
You'll provide compassionate postpartum care in a patient-centered environment. Your responsibilities include monitoring maternal recovery, supporting breastfeeding and bonding, assessing newborn health, and educating families on postpartum care and infant health. You'll work collaboratively with obstetricians, midwives, lactation consultants, and pediatric colleagues.
Requirements
- Current RN license (verification required)
- BLS or ACLS certification preferred
- Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR experience beneficial)
- Professional references and background clearance required
- Immunizations and health screening per facility standards (TB, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, Hepatitis B, Influenza, PPD/IGRA)
Onboarding
You'll complete facility-specific competency assessments, EKG exam, color vision screening, and orientation checklists prior to your first shift. All onboarding requirements will be outlined during your assignment confirmation.
