Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Rancho Mirage, CA

This 13-week night shift contract places you in a full-service Labor, Delivery, Recovery, and Postpartum unit caring for childbearing women and well newborns, including neonates, infants, adolescents, and adults.

Shift & Schedule

• Nights: 19:00–07:00
• On-call: Once per schedule (approximately every 4 weeks)
• Self-scheduling; flexible scheduling required — block scheduling is rarely approved
• Weekend coverage required; every other holiday expected

Required Experience & Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years L&D experience (4 years preferred)
• Couplet care and postpartum experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required — no first-time travelers
• California RN license required at time of submission
• Permanent address must be 50+ miles from the facility

Required Certifications

• BLS, ACLS, NRP
• AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate certification
• IV Start, ability to circulate for C-section

Clinical Scope

The unit manages vaginal and cesarean deliveries, high-risk obstetric patients, postpartum hemorrhage, magnesium sulfate therapy, epidural anesthesia, and neonatal resuscitation. An OB Emergency Department operates within the unit. Intensivist, hospitalist, and anesthesiologist coverage is available in-house around the clock. Interdisciplinary support includes pharmacy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response.
