Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Medical-Surgical Telemetry nurse for a 13-week contract. You'll work day shift, 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM) in a fast-paced med-surg tele unit managing patients with diverse diagnoses and monitoring needs.
Requirements
- License: Permanent Ohio or compact state license in hand at time of submission
- Experience: Minimum 12 months permanent experience in Med-Surg/Tele
- Certifications: Active BLS and ACLS required; NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
- References: One reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in your specialty (from assignments within the past 12 months) required for submission
- Assessments: You'll complete ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments during orientation; passing scores are required
Clinical Environment
You'll provide care to medical-surgical telemetry patients, delivering skilled nursing in a collaborative team setting. Clinical competency and strong assessment skills are essential.
Additional Information
- Orientation includes pre-start and ongoing competency modules
- Background screening and BCI/FBI clearance required within 48 hours of contract signing
- Drug screening (10-panel) required within 12 months of start
- COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions only)
- Contract may be extended up to 18 months with facility approval
