General Surgery OR Position

Location: Springfield, VT

Schedule: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday–Thursday

32 guaranteed hours per week. Additional hours available through call.

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Role Overview

Join the surgical team in a busy general surgery operating room. You'll support a dynamic surgical practice specializing in abdominal, soft tissue, and trauma procedures. This role involves circulating in the OR for a full spectrum of general surgical cases.

Clinical Scope

Common procedures include:

• Colonoscopy and upper GI endoscopy
• Laparoscopic and open hernia repairs (inguinal, umbilical, incisional)
• Laparoscopic cholecystectomy
• Soft tissue mass excision
• Excisional biopsies
• Hemorrhoid procedures
• Oncologic surgery (breast and colon)
• Antireflux surgery
• Skin grafting
• Urgent and emergent surgical cases

Requirements

• 2+ years of current OR experience in a hospital setting (required)
• Strong circulating experience, particularly with orthopedic procedures (required)
• Vermont RN license or Compact license
• Active AHA BLS certification
• Bachelor's degree preferred
• Own vehicle for commuting

Call Schedule

Approximately 10 call shifts per month, including one weekend shift per month (Friday–Sunday, 24-hour blocks). Call begins at 3:30 PM and extends through 7:00 AM the following day. Rotating holiday coverage required as needed.

Important: All time-off requests and scheduling needs must be submitted at the time of application. Requests submitted after offer or during interview will not be approved. Maximum 5 days of unpaid time off permitted during the contract.
