Medical-Surgical RN – Night Shift | Santa Cruz, CA | 13-Week Contract
This acute care Medical-Surgical unit is seeking an experienced travel RN for a 13-week night shift assignment. The unit cares for a broad range of adult med-surg patients, and nurses must be comfortable monitoring and interpreting telemetry/EKG strips.
Position Details
- Shift: 12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Schedule: Every other weekend; holiday rotation aligns with permanent staff schedule
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
- Start Date: November 9, 2026
Clinical Environment
- Charge nurse on unit (non-patient-carrying)
- PCT support varies with census
- Respiratory therapy, pharmacy, and IV/PICC team services available around the clock
- Hospitalist/intensivist in-house
- Floating required between two Med-Surg units; a home-base unit will be assigned
- Orientation consists of one shift on each unit (two shifts total)
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of solid Med-Surg experience (night shift)
- Telemetry proficiency: must read EKG strips independently
- BLS certification required
- Active RN license applicable to California
- Strong, positive attitude with ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Scrubs: Navy
Cancellation Policy: Up to 4 shifts may be cancelled over a 13-week assignment (3 shifts for shorter contracts).
