Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Nurse
Position Details
- Location: Asheville, NC
- Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 23, 2026
- Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
About the Role
Join the progressive care unit at the facility, where you'll provide nursing care to patients requiring close monitoring and intermediate-level interventions. The PCU bridges general medical-surgical and critical care, caring for patients with multiple comorbidities, post-operative recovery needs, and those transitioning from higher acuity settings.
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor patient vital signs, hemodynamics, and clinical status
- Administer medications and manage IV therapies
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
- Perform wound care, catheter management, and other skilled nursing procedures
- Educate patients and families on discharge planning and self-management
Requirements
- Current RN license (NC)
- BLS certification required
- PCU or acute care nursing experience preferred
- Strong communication and time management skills
