PACU Nurse – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nurse to join the recovery team. You'll provide direct care to patients emerging from anesthesia, monitoring vital signs, managing pain and nausea, and ensuring safe transitions to inpatient units or discharge.
Shift & Schedule
- 3 × 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)
- 10:30 AM – 11:00 PM
- 13-week contract
- Start date: December 7, 2026
Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of PACU experience
- Current RN license (state-specific)
- PALS certification preferred
- Travel nursing experience preferred
What You'll Do
- Assess and monitor post-operative patients in the immediate recovery phase
- Manage airway, breathing, and circulation
- Administer medications and monitor pain control
- Communicate with surgical and anesthesia teams
- Document patient progress and prepare discharge summaries
- Respond to patient needs in a fast-paced environment
