Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract

Greensburg, PA | 13-Week Assignment | Rotating Shifts (Days & Nights)

This travel opportunity is in an active Labor & Delivery unit managing obstetric patients across the full spectrum of antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care. The unit serves neonates, adolescents, and adults, with interdisciplinary support including phlebotomy, respiratory services, social services, and rapid response teams.

Shift Schedule

• Rotating 3×12-hour shifts
• Days: 07:00–19:30 | Nights: 19:00–07:30
• Weekend coverage required (schedule varies); every other holiday required

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform sterile vaginal exams and assist with vaginal and high-risk deliveries
• Circulate for cesarean section deliveries
• Start IVs, draw blood, and manage IV drips and infusion pumps
• Stabilize newborns post-delivery using NRP protocols
• Recognize and respond to complications including postpartum hemorrhage, pre-eclampsia/eclampsia, HELLP syndrome, and hypertensive disorders of pregnancy
• Manage magnesium sulfate therapy, Pitocin, and antihypertensive medications
• obstetric patients and interpret fetal heart monitoring (external and internal)
• Support VBAC management and trial of labor

Required Certifications *(AHA accepted only)*

• BLS
• AWHONN Intermediate
• FHM
• NRP

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience required
• Charge experience preferred
• Active PA or Compact RN license required at submission
• Willingness to float within the facility and to sister facilities within a 10-mile radius
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (no locals)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered); COVID-19 vaccine not required
