NICU/PICU Respiratory Therapist – Day Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to join the NICU/PICU team on a 13-week contract. You'll provide critical respiratory support to neonates, infants, and pediatric patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Shift & Schedule
- Days: 3x12-hour shifts (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
- Weekends: You will work at least every other Friday and Monday; additional weekend coverage may be required
- Time off: Requests must be submitted at the time of application (maximum 5 days total). No block scheduling except for weekend-only blocks (Friday–Sunday)
- Orientation: 36 hours
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience in NICU/PICU respiratory therapy
- Current state licensure (Ohio or compact state)
- ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications required
- Supervisor reference within the past 2 years
Clinical Scope
You'll manage ventilator support (including high-frequency oscillation), high-flow oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation, nitric oxide delivery, and airway clearance techniques (IPV, vest, cough assist). You'll work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team including IV services, physical therapy, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
Staffing & Expectations
- Expect to float within the hospital and potentially to satellite locations
- Background check and onsite fingerprinting required on day one
- Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
- COVID-19 vaccine: not required
