Inpatient Pharmacist | Boone, NC | 13-Week Contract
A 24/7 inpatient pharmacy in Boone, North Carolina is seeking a travel Pharmacist for a 13-week assignment. This role supports a collaborative, interdisciplinary care team with a strong emphasis on patient safety and clinical accuracy.
Shift Details
- 4x10-hour day shifts; hours may vary but will not extend past 9:00 PM
- Weekday scheduling primarily Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- Float within the hospital as needed
Clinical Responsibilities
- Verify medication orders, reviewing for patient allergies, drug interactions, and drug-disease state interactions
- Reconcile home medications against medication reconciliation reports
- Utilize and manage pharmacist-to-dose consult protocols
- Consult with physicians, residents, and other members of the healthcare team
- Check IV admixtures for accuracy and patient safety in compliance with USP 797/800 guidelines
- Provide high-quality service to healthcare teammates in person and by phone
Requirements
- PharmD degree required
- Active pharmacy license in North Carolina (or pending with confirmed ETA)
- Minimum 1 year of inpatient pharmacy experience
- Prior experience with pharmacist-to-dose protocols preferred
- Must reside more than 40 miles from the facility
- COVID-19 vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
