MedSurg Stepdown / Floor RN — Morgantown, WV

13-Week Travel Contract | 36 Guaranteed Hours/Week

This combined MedSurg Stepdown and Floor unit provides care for a mixed-acuity medical-surgical population. The position is ideal for RNs comfortable managing both monitored stepdown patients and general floor assignments within the same unit.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour days, 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
• Weekends and holidays required (frequency may vary)
• Call/standby requirements to be confirmed at offer

Clinical Details

• Stepdown and general MedSurg patients; common diagnoses include typical acute-care medical-surgical presentations
• RNs must be proficient in reading and interpreting telemetry strips; tele techs post strips each shift, but independent strip interpretation is required
• Drip titration is required
• Ventilator-dependent patients may be present on the unit; respiratory therapy is available in-house 24/7
• Charge Nurse and Transport RN support available during day shift at optimal staffing levels
• Nursing assistant support typically 2–5 per shift

Requirements

• Active RN license (willing to wait for state license)
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
• BSN not required
• Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

• Duration: 13 weeks
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Float to other units possible
• Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
