Operating Room Scrub & Circulating Nurse

Shift: 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role
The facility's operating room is seeking an experienced RN to provide scrub and circulating nursing support. You'll work across a high-acuity surgical environment handling neurosurgery, trauma, and complex orthopedic cases requiring precision, focus, and strong teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
- Scrub and circulate for neurosurgical, trauma, and complex orthopedic procedures
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment
- Perform pre-operative assessments and verify surgical site, consent, and procedure per protocol
- Conduct accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts before, during, and after procedures
- Monitor patient safety and status throughout surgical cases
- Manage supplies, equipment, and instrumentation
- Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical team members
- Assist with patient positioning, prepping, and post-op handoff to PACU
- Document intraoperative care accurately
Required Qualifications
- New York State active RN license
- Associate's degree in nursing (ASN/ADN) from an accredited program
- Minimum 2 years of scrub and circulating experience in trauma, neurosurgery, and complex orthopedic cases
- 2 years of IV insertion and phlebotomy experience
- 2 years of conscious sedation experience
- BLS and ACLS certification
- Primary source verification of license from NYSED
