Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Registered Dietitian to join the nutrition services team. You will screen and assess patients' nutritional needs, provide individualized nutrition education, and collaborate with the healthcare team to optimize patient outcomes through evidence-based dietary interventions.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive nutritional assessments, including review of medical history, laboratory values, and social factors
- Interview patients and families to gather food habits, preferences, and dietary concerns
- Monitor and document food and drug interactions; educate patients on potential interactions
- Consult with physicians regarding appropriate diet modifications
- Provide nutrition counseling and education; record patient understanding and adherence
- Modify patient menus as clinically indicated
- Follow up with patients to ensure nutritional goals are met
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or Foods and Nutrition from an accredited institution
- Minimum 1 year of clinical dietetics experience
- Registered Dietitian (RD) credential via Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) — Primary Source Verification required
- New York State Certification as a Dietitian-Nutritionist (required for post-acute/long-term care assignments)
- AHA BLS certification (preferred)
- Fluent in English (read, write, speak)
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:00 PM (5 × 8-hour shifts)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: November 17, 2026
